IMPACT OF OUR ACTIVITIES THIS YEAR
Trees Saved
The number of mature trees that would have required removal under an open-excavation method but which were avoided using RePipe’s exclusive trenchless technologies and methods.
Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (Metric Tons)
RePipe’s net reduction on greenhouse gas emissions includes three key components:
- The reduction in greenhouse gas emissions arising from RePipe’s exclusive trenchless technologies and methods compared to open-excavation methods.
- RePipe’s estimate of this component is based on a CO2 Emissions Calculator developed by the University of Waterloo, Ontario.
Plus the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions arising from the replacement of leaking gas, power, water and sewer mains. RePipe’s estimate of this component is derived from client utility data. - Less the greenhouse gas emissions arising from RePipe’s non-field activities including all administrative activities and travel. RePipe’s estimate of this component is based on:
- The Ecological Footprint Calculator developed by the National Centre for Sustainability at Swinburne University and the Centre for Design at RMIT University
- The Carbon Calculator developed by the Carbon Neutral Not for Profit Organisation.
Long-Term Injury Rate
The number of work hours lost from health and safety related incidents expressed as a proportion of total work hours.
